Involving Men in Women's Empowerment Projects

A story of Tara McCartney the founder and Managing Director of United for Hope and an Indian perspective on empowerment

Our speaker Tara lives and works in some of Northern India's most patriarchal rural districts.

She works to create women's empowerment through education, training, access to preventive health and civic rights. Tara takes us through the sources of patriarchy in India, how it plays out for rural women and what we can learn about involving men in women's empowerment projects.

Tara McCartney is a former corporate manager turned social entrepreneur with multiple projects and companies based out of India. From basic services for the rural poor such as clean water, solar energy and social tourism, as part of a Smart Village strategy, via her non-profit United for Hope and its partner for-profit, Shakti Empowerment Solutions to sustainable farming and increased income for farmers via Grow Good Farms to ethical textile production for European retailers through her full service agency, Fairfactia, Tara has extensive knowledge of the challenges and the opportunities of development issues and social entrepreneurship in India.

Register today and hear Tara's story at the Munich offices of LinkedIn. We are looking forward to see you there!
